CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE
Increased phospholipids values appear in nephrotic syndrome, cholestasis, pregnancy, mild viral hepatitis, von Gierke’s disease, Types IIa and IIb hyperlipoproteinemia, alcoholism, alcoholic and biliary cirrhosis, myocardiac infarction, chronic pancreatitis and nephrotic syndrome. Values are decreased at hyperthyroidism, Tangier disease, a-β-lipoproteinemia, pernicious anemia, hereditary spherocytosis, sick cell anemia, multiple sclerosis.
